e-Secure is a leading independent supplier of specialist computer security consulting, risk management and managed security services in the Asia Pacific region, and therefore takes information privacy very seriously. e-Secure believes that the responsible use of any personal information collected on its web site is critical to its business objectives and reputation. Therefore, eSecure supports and promotes compliance with the 10 National Privacy Principles described in the Privacy Act. The following describes how e-Secure protects the privacy of visitors to its web site.
What information do we gather?
When the eSecure web site is visited, a record of the visit is made in the web server's log. The information logged is for statistical purposes only and does not personally identify the visitor. This information includes the visitor's ip address, date and time of the visit, the pages visited on the e-Secure web site, the site the visitor accessed e-Secure from and the type of browser used by the visitor. e-Secure will not attempt to use this information to identify visitors or their personal browsing activities. However, in the unlikely event of an investigation, a law enforcement agency may exercise its legal authority to inspect the web site logs.
At times cookies may be used by the eSecure web site to assist visitors. Only session cookies will be used. Session cookies are destroyed when the visitor's browser is closed and no cookie-based information is maintained which may identify a visitor should they visit the site at a later date.
Pages on this site may be coded with Google Analytics web tracking. Google Analytics may store a cookie in your browser, which contains a unique identifier, and sends information to Google Analytics. This enables eSecure to track the number of unique visitors to the site. In no way does this unique identifier identify a user personally. eSecure does not, and will not marry any data collected by Google Analytics with any personal information.
If a visitor emails e-Secure, the sender's email address is recorded by e-Secure for the purposes of replying to the email and to facilitate any future email communications.
How do we use this information?
The information logged by e-Secure's web site is used for statistical purposes and to determine the most effective design for the web site, including ways to improve the web site.
Any email addresses received by e-Secure will only be used for the purpose for which they were provided and they will not be added to a mailing list or used for any other purpose without the owner's consent.
Any personal information collected by e-Secure may be made available to divisions of the e-Secure organisation other than the collecting division, but the information will only be used for the purpose for which it was provided.
Where it is necessary for eSecure to comply with legal responsibilities and lawful requests by law enforcement agencies, eSecure will provide required information to the appropriate agency when requested or when eSecure has reason to suspect that unlawful activity has been, is being or may be engaged in (clause 2.1(f) of the National Privacy Principles).
You are entitled to know whether we hold information about you and, if we do, to have access to that information and require it to be corrected if it is inaccurate. You can contact e-Secure by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or visiting the e-Secure Contacts page for further contact details.
