Vulnerability Scanning

e-Secure can undertake Security Scanning Services against your network and application infrastructure on a periodic basis to ensure that your externally exposed Internet infrastructure and services are not vulnerable to common Internet attacks. The scanning service is undertaken using a combination of commercial and open-source tools, with scan results and summary reports available to you via our secure Managed Services web portal.

The network scanning service assesses your externally visible network infrastructure (servers, firewalls, routers etc) for open ports and services, common mis-configurations, and known vulnerabilities. The scanning is undertaken from eSecure’s network assessment environment and is undertaken in two phases:

1. Vulnerability Scanning
   Vulnerability scanning will be undertaken against IP’s / devices provided by you. “Safemode” checks will be enabled, disabling those vulnerability checks that cause known impacts to systems, providing some level of assurance that systems should not be impacted.
2. Web Server Scanning
   Web Server scanning is undertaken against those devices that are identified as running a web service. This type of scanning performs comprehensive tests against web servers for multiple items, including over 3500 potentially dangerous files/CGIs, versions on over 900 servers, and version specific problems on over 250 different types of web servers.
